Yes, I was a door to door Electrolux salesman. It was the most challenging job that I ever had. On a normal day we would load three salesman into an old blue Chevy cargo van. The back of the van would be loaded with three demo sweeper and a couple boxes of brand new Electrolux upright sweepers in a cardboard box. We would head out to small towns in Kansas. Usually, any town that we could reach in less than an hour or two from Topeka. I learned to deal with rejection at this job. Not everyone is a buyer. Maybe, the customer had bought a new vacuum last week or they were flat out broke. No one likes rejection but it doesn't kill you. At the time it sometimes can feel like it might. I received my results from a couple of songwriting contests last week. I was 0 for 2. Sometimes what we need is not more success but to take more chances to be successful. It isn't always the best salesman that gets the most sales. Sometimes it is the person who knocks on the most doors. Knock! Knock!
