Recap of 2021

2020 was my best year in my songwriting career. This year was even better. Better is hard word to really define. No, I didn't get a #1 Country hit but I wrote more songs in 2022 than I did in 2021, 2020, and 2019 combined.  How was I able to achieve this? Co-writing.

I have co-written songs before just not to this level. Most of the songs were written with my friend, Fletcher Moudy. He is the CEO of Ammar Music group. It is an independent song publishing company. Fletcher and I wrote twenty-five to thirty songs this year.It was a great time. It is great when you click with the person that you are writing with. Kinda like finding the perfect girl friend instead of finding a girl friend. lol.

I also wrote with some of my friends from the Tidewater NSAI chapter. I had the privilege of writing with Bill Miles, Michael King, Clay Smith, and Michael Crockett. It was a fun time getting to write and make new and better friendships. Also, I got to write a song with my son, Jeremy. That was a great time getting to work on a song with him.

On top of this I continued to do what I have been doing for the last eight years. I write one new song a month to play at the monthly NSAI meeting. I also send that same song into NSAI to get it evaluated. I need better ears than mine to help me to write better songs. An unbiased opinion from somebody whose name isn't typed at the top of the page. lol

This year I was wrote or co-wrote about fifty songs. Up from twelve songs a year. It becomes a numbers game. Maybe I need to write a hundred song to have a really good one. That would put me on track to have a really good song every other year. Yup! 2022 was  a better year.
