Last night was the night that I was able to get a Nashville publisher to listen to two of my songs. He did not choose either of my songs to be the next hit for his company. I did receive words of encouragement and it was a good night. He listened to - Red Oklahoma Clay and Big Hit. The comments on Red Oklahoma Clay was that it was too sad to be a hit country song. He thought it was more of a bluegrass song. I would agree. Most of my songs are more folk/bluegrass than straight out country. The other song made him laugh. He said it would be a great song to play at the Bluebird Cafe. I need to plan on going to the Bluebird to play my song. It was a good night but it could have been better. This is my second time to pitch to a publisher. This time went a lot better than the last time. Time to go write some more songs.
