I wrote an article a few years ago about how to get people to visit your website. My best advice is to blog. The more you share, the more people visit. The more consistent you are the more progress you make. I went from zero views other than me to about 900 views a month. It was cool to look at the statistics and see where everybody was visiting from. Some of the people visiting my website were from all over the USA. I even had views from all over the world. My most viewed area was Russia. Why would someone from Russia be interested in reading a blog about an American, Christian, songwriter, guitar player who works as an assistant manager in a grocery store in Kansas? I don't know the answer to my own question.
Over time I did less and less writing. We all know the story. We have jobs. Jobs demand our time. Usually the best part of our day. The part of the day when we are the most productive and creative. What does that leave to us workers? We get early morning and late evening. Oh yeah, I have a couple days off a week. I have family and friends that I want to spend time with. It is difficult to find time for all the things I want to do. You can probably relate to this to.
I have not been as motivated to blog as I used to. I have been trying to focus on writing songs. Maybe I should start sharing my lyrics. This would count as blogging and would still help me to improve as a songwriter. I want to do a better job. I want to give people a reason to visit my site. To get to know me and the journey of my life.
The reason I wrote on my blog today is because I checked my site activity for the last week. . I will be honest with you. It is not impressive. I had one visitor. This is down from when I would sometimes have between fifty and one hundred in one day. Today was a motivation day. A wake up call. A time to press the reset button and start over. I hope you will come back and check it out. Welcome back to me and you.
