Are you a Taylor Swift fan or a Travis Kelce fan? Or both? Two people from two different worlds. Taylor is a pop star with her loyal following of Swifties. Travis is a two time Super bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs. They both have become more populat since they started dating with the addition of new followers that htey have been introduced to.
I kinda did the same thing this week. I went to an Open Mic this mic. Yes, I have been to many open mics but never to a comedy open mic. I was invited by one of the hosts to come out and play my guitar and sing. So I decided to take up the invitation. I am now in two worlds, music and comedy. That is funny, to type. lol
My first joke that I told was, I was sitting at a table with other comedians and I could see two girlfriends pointing at me and talking. I could hear them but them didn't know that I had great hearing. The brunette said to the blonde, “ He looks funny.” Yes, I might be a natural at this. lol
I got on stage and played the introduction to Stairway to Heaven. Then I proceeded to ramble on like I do between songs when I play out. After a few minutes, maybe less I went into my song. Here are the words to my song.
I walked up and stood at her table.
I said, I don't do this very well,
I think you might be an angel
An angel from heaven that fell
I slid my hand from my pocket
It was shaking, I hope she couldn't tell
I smiled and shook her hand warmly
I said, “Hello my name is Justin Case.”
Chorus- Justin Case you ever get lonely
Justin Case you ever need a friend
Justin Case you need someone to talk to
Don't forget my name is Justin Case.
She said, "I've heard many come ons
I've heard better, and I've heard worse.
Did you know the devil was an angel
thrown from heaven down here to earth?
She slid the pen from my pocket
and slowly rolled up my sleeve
and in blue ink she wrote down her number
and her name, her name was Annie Tyme
Annie Tyme you ever get lonely
Annie Tyme you ever need a friend
Annie Tyme you need someone to talk to
Justin Case you can call me Annie Tyme.
It was great to get out and play my guitar. It was also good to get to hang out with my buddy Rick. He was been performing regularly at comdey open mics. This month he even had his first professional comedy gig. How exciting is that? Congratulations Rick.
