This is the title to a song that I wrote. Today I sent it to Nashville Songwriting Association International (NSAI) to have it evaluated. I also made a video of it on Socialcam and posted it on Facebook and Utube. I wrote this song after listening to the shootings at Newtown. I was processing how hard it would be to deal with the death of a child. Especially a young child. I am not trying to provide a reason for why things like this happen. I don't know the reason. Here are the lyrics to the song.
A father stood by his daughter's casket.
As his tears fell upon her blue dress.
His tears had turned to anger,
His grief to bitterness.
He yelled out, "God I hate you.
Why'd my little girl die?"
I deserve and answer.
He grunts and says,
"What no reply?"
Chorus- Trust me when you don't know how.
In the cold night I will keep you warm.
You are confused, with nothing to lose.
Let me be the shelter in your storm.
The mother walked up to the casket
and slowly she knelt down to her knees.
She bowed her head reverently,
and softly whispered, "Jesus help me."
She said, " I know my thoughts aren't yours
but I'll trust when I don't understand.
And in her eyes, she see's her little girl and Jesus
in heaven, dancing sweetly, hand in hand.
Chorus- Trust me when you don't know how.
In the cold night I will keep you warm.
You area confused, with nothing to lose.
Let me be the shelter in your storm.
I will trust you when I don't understand.
in the cold night you will keep me warm.
I am confused with nothing to lose.
You are the shelter,
Jesus is my shelter.
You are my shelter in the storm.
A father stood by his daughter's casket.

His tears had turned to anger,
