    Becoming a Songwriter

Becoming a Songwriter. I stole that title from Andrea Stolpe. Who is Andrea Stolpe? She has taught a Berklee College of Music and USC. She help aspiring songwriters to get better at the craft of songwriting. She has written a book about songwriting called Popular Lyric Writing: Ten steps to Effective Storytelling. She is a really good teacher with tons of knowledge.

I found a free course on You tube called Becoming a Songwriter. It is a 2 ½ hour class. It is broken up into different chapters that take about 15- to 20 minutes to complete. At the end  of each chapter, she gives and assignment to help you implement the new ideas from that chapter. It is a great way to learn.

I have been doing the course for two days. I have completed about an hour and the two and a half hour course. It is very informative. I recommend it to other songwriters to help with your journey. (If you are like me and you want help on your trip)

I am like a beggar on the street telling someone where they can get a free meal.  The free meal is better songs. If you go to You tube, type in the search box- Becoming a Songwriter. Hope you enjoy it. You can also check out her website www.andreastolpe.com
