Do Anything is the title to a song that I wrote. It is really about what has been going on in my life. Songwriter's write about stuff we know and what do we know better than our own lives. I wanted to write a song that had been part of journey through life this last six months.
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Almost every guy who lives long enough will probably get this form of cancer. Guess what? I have lived long enough to get it. Die young and don't get it. Get old and get it. I went with the second option. lol
It is a long process figuring out if you have prostate cancer. I had mutliple bloods tests, fancier blood tests, MRI, Cat scan, and a biopsy. There is a lot of time spent waiting on test results. That is part of learning to be patient. Learning to be patient and being a good patient are two different things.
Here are the lyrics to my song.
Do Anything
It's MRI's and cat scans
Xrays and blood tests
hoping for the best results
preparing for the worst.
and when my faith get's tired
I can't sleep at night
turn the lights back on
get up for awhile
Chorus- so I pick up my old guitar
the one with nylon strings
sing How Great Thou Art
to Jesus Christ my King
the one who saves me
hears me when I pray
who else could I go to
that could do anything
The blind and the deaf
the sick, and the weaki
It's me in those stories
scriptures that I read
I'm a lot like Thomas
with my share of doubts
all my clouds look black
as they drift about
Chorus- so I pick up my old guitar
the one with nylon strings
sing How Great Thou Art
to Jesus Christ my King
the one who saves me
hears me when I pray
who else could I go to
that could do anything
I can't name a thing, that he cannot do
a battle he can't win, if he chooses to
Chorus- so I pick up my old guitar
the one with nylon strings
sing How Great Thou Art
to Jesus Christ my King
the one who saves me
hears me when I pray
who else could I go to
that could do anything
We all have dificulties in life. Mine helped me to know where my focus was going to be. I put my faith in Jesus who can Do Anything. Truly blessed. Jim
