A Hand to Guide Me is the title to a Denzel Washington book. I picked it up at the library today. So far, it has been a great read. Denzel talks about three people that made a difference in his life. One was a guy who worked at the Boys and Girls club. His name was Billy Thomas. He ran the place. He made Denzel and other kids who went there feel special.
The rest of the book is other famous people sharing their stories of who inspired them and what they did to inspire others. Here is a list of some of the people you might have heard of. lol Hank Aaron, Muhammad Alli, Yogi Berra, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Johnny Damon (ex Royals ball player), Jamie Farr, Phil Jackson, and John
Wooden, just to name a few.
One statement that I read that I think is great. People don't care how much you care, they are moved by how you make them feel. Make other's feel good. Be their biggest fan. We all need that someone in our corner, even when we mess up. Especially when we mess up.
Looking forward to a good read. I love it when I find a book worth reading.
