    Best Friend

I wanted to share the lyrics to a song I wrote called Best Friend.
The light in her husband's bedroom
is always off and the bed is made
The sports page from Sunday's paper
Ain't on the floor where it used to lay

    At night, dark quiet kitchen
no cups clanging in the sink.
    Her home is deadly quiet
    his rocker no longer squeaks.

Chorus- And sometimes she get's lonely
but she knows she's never alone
She talks to Jesus, shares everything with him
and Jesus, is Momma's best friend.

Us kids, have all grown up
moved away, lives of our own.
    She writes on her calendar
when we visit, what day we phoned

Chorus- And sometimes she get's lonely
but she knows, she's never alone
She talks to Jesus, shares everything with him
and Jesus, is Momma's best friend
    Jesus is Momma's best friend.
