The old Toshiba laptop has seen better days. It has been officially retired. It was the first laptop computer that I ever owned. I remember going to look at them at Nebraska Furniture Mart with Mary Ann and my Mom. It was when they first came out with Windows 8. Windows 8 was suppose to be the latest and greatest thing. Now, Windows 10 is the latest and greatest. The next best thing is always right around the corner.
How do you know when you need a new computer? At first it is only a few things wrong with the old one. The first thing that went wrong was the mouse pad on the computer stopped working. This was an easy fix. I went and bought a wireless mouse. Problem fixed. The next thing that happened was the left side hinge broke. The good part was that it was still useable. It was annoying. The final straw was the cd burner stopped working. I was in Nashville and was going to play a song for a publisher. The Cd's that I burned did not work. Three broke items was my limit.
I needed a song to play for a publisher. I had to record a song on video in my Super Eight Bathroom recording studio. Great reverb. lol. It would have be a better story if the publisher would have loved the song and wanted Eric Church to record it. No such luck.
Back to the computer story. My buddy Rick had bought a used computer off Craigslist from a guy in Perry, KS. He really likes his computer. The price was right and it worked great. Those are two things that I was looking for in a computer. Value and performance. My new used computer is a Dell Latitude E6510. It is so fast, I can't believe it. It is like trading a horse and buggy for a sports car. I have no excuses not to blog or write a song. Yes, I still have excuses but I can't blame the computer.
