Apps are great. I have an ipod 4th generation and I think it is great. I went to a local coffee shop for a cup of mocha a couple days ago. They had a guitar sitting their for customers to play. It was  a little out of tune but definitely playable. I have gotten so spoiled by using my electronic tuner. I was planning on going to the coffee shop this morning and I thought about taking my guitar tuner. 

I thought to myself, "Why not just upload a guitar tuning app for free." I found one called Jam Play. It has a guitar tuner, metronome, jam tracks, scale library, chord library, etc. Technology is sure great. This is so much easier than tuning by ear. The great thing is it did not cost me anything.
