I love my Ipod. I know that most people have cell phones and if they are an Apple lover they have an IPhone. If you don't know me, I am very cheap. I like my Ipod because there is no monthly fee. I carry it with me almost everywhere that I go. The downside to my Ipod is that I need an internet connection to get it to work on the web. Our internet connections at Dillons is not very good. It does not work in my office, backroom, sales floor, etc. The only place that it works is in the coffee shop and it also works in my truck in the parking lot. Go figure. I know that doesn't make sense. The best benefit of my Ipod is that I use it for song ideas, titles and hooks. If I am reading a book, watching a movie, hear someone say something catchy, etc. I type it into my Ipod. Later when I am ready to write I go and review all of my ideas. The good and the bad ones. If I have a title that is promising, I might start writing a few lyrics in my free time without a guitar. In a couple weeks I might revisit that lyric and add to it or I might go a different direction. If you don't have a system to keep track of song ideas I would encourage you to do so. It is a great tool. Especially if you are forgetful like me.
