Kip Moore told hisexperience about the story behind the song. He was back in high school and had gone out with  a girl that was a couple years older. He took her out a couple times in his car but she didn't seem very interested in him. He had a date with her one night and  his Dad let him take his Chevy Silverado pickup. It was like a different girl. She was more interested in him and more friendly. When Kip got home his Dad asked,' How his date went?' Kip replied, "There's somethin about a truck." Now everybody knows why guys want pickup trucks.
