Have you ever been to a musician website and read a book review? Okay, this is strange. Ha! Ha! I am almost done reading the book Unapologetic. I love to read. I get many good ideas for songs from reading. The front cover of the book say, " Unapologetic-Why, despite everything, Christianity can still make surprising emotional sense." First of all, I want to apologize to Mr. Spufford this part is very negative. I thought it was an okay book. It was a good enough book that I kept reading. I am not a very deep intellectual thinker. I am more of a story lover and teller.
I have read many books by Christian authors. It is the only book that I ever read that had cussing in it. This kind of threw me a curveball but I kept reading. I kept reading and then I came to chapter 5. Chapter 5 is called Yeshua. Yeshua is Latin for Jesus. Chapter 5 is great. I would rank it as one of the best chapters of any book that I have ever read. Great writing Mr. Spufford.
He described his writing of chapter 5 in chapter 6. He told the story of the gospel's by peeling away the familiar wording in the stories. He narrated the story's meaning rather than it's naked events. He folded the meaning Christians give it into the events, rather than leaving it up to you to decide how to interpret them. Here Is my suggestion- Buy the book Unapologetic. Read chapter 5. It's great.
